What is the benefit of working with both a CPA and CFP® professional?2026-08-19T20:47:38+00:00

Your taxes, business finances, investments, retirement, and personal financial goals are interconnected. By bringing CPA and CFP® expertise together, we can evaluate financial decisions from both a tax and a comprehensive-planning perspective and help you build a coordinated strategy for your entire financial picture.

How often will we meet?2026-08-19T20:48:33+00:00

For our ongoing services, we typically meet with clients quarterly to review progress, discuss changes in their financial or business situation, and address upcoming planning opportunities.

These meetings allow us to proactively coordinate your taxes, business finances, investments, retirement planning, and other financial goals throughout the year. We also understand that important financial decisions don’t always happen on a schedule, so clients can reach out to our team between meetings when questions or planning needs arise.

Financial Planning & Investments

Where are my investment assets held?2026-08-25T20:36:22+00:00

Your investment assets are held with Charles Schwab, an independent third-party custodian, rather than directly by Piece of Wealth Planning. The custodian is responsible for safeguarding your assets, providing account statements, and processing transactions within your accounts.

Eligible securities held at a SIPC-member brokerage firm may receive SIPC protection up to applicable limits if the brokerage firm fails and customer assets are missing. SIPC protection does not protect against declines in the market value of your investments.

We believe using an independent custodian provides an important layer of separation and transparency between the financial advice we provide and the institution that holds your assets.

What is your investment philosophy?2026-08-19T20:15:49+00:00

Our investment philosophy focuses on building diversified, long-term portfolios designed around your financial goals, risk tolerance, and overall financial plan.

We generally favor low-cost, diversified ETFs and mutual funds rather than trying to consistently time the market or select individual stocks. We also consider tax efficiency, asset allocation, rebalancing, and tax-loss harvesting when appropriate.

Most importantly, we believe your investment strategy should be one part of your broader financial plan, not something managed in isolation from your taxes, retirement goals, business finances, and other priorities.

Fees & Fiduciary Relationship

Are you a fiduciary?2026-08-19T20:39:14+00:00

Yes. As fee-only financial planners, we act as fiduciaries when providing financial advice, which means we are committed to putting our clients’ best interests first.

Our recommendations are based on your unique financial situation, goals, and needs, not on commissions or incentives for recommending specific financial products. We believe this fiduciary approach helps create greater transparency, trust, and alignment throughout our relationship.

What does fee-only financial planning mean?2026-08-19T20:44:39+00:00

Piece of Wealth Planning is a fee-only financial planning firm, which means we are compensated directly by our clients for the services we provide. We do not receive commissions for recommending or selling financial products.

This structure helps reduce potential conflicts of interest and allows our advice to remain focused on what we believe is in your best interest. Our fees vary based on the services and level of support you need.

How does Piece of Wealth Planning get paid?2026-08-19T20:47:57+00:00

Piece of Wealth Planning is a fee-only firm. This means that our only compensation comes from the services we provide to you. We do not get paid any commissions, kickbacks, “trails”, or referral fees. Clients are billed one-time and/or monthly depending on the service offering chosen. To learn more about our services and pricing, click here.

Do you have minimum income or investment requirements?2026-08-19T20:15:07+00:00

We do not require a specific level of income or investable assets to work with Piece of Wealth Planning. Instead, we focus on whether our services and expertise are a good fit for your financial needs and goals.

Our clients are typically healthcare professionals, private practice owners, independent healthcare professionals, and healthcare business owners who are looking for ongoing, coordinated guidance across their taxes, business finances, investments, retirement planning, and personal financial goals.
